The Ottawa Rowing Club will be hosting two coach certification courses in 2017:
The RCA Learn to Row Coach Workshop is a NCCP recognized 13-hour workshop that is ideal for coaches teaching novice athletes or participants in Learn to Row programs. The workshop is designed to align with the Learn to Train stage of the RCA Long Term Athlete Development/Canadian Sport for Life model.
After completing the workshop, the coach is designated as Trained in the NCCP database. In order to receive certification, evaluation must take place via a successful practical evaluation and the completion of Make Ethical Decisions (Community Sport) evaluation.
Participant fee $150.00 + HST
Location: Ottawa Rowing Club, 10 Lady Gray Dr., Ottawa, Ontario
Weekend Schedule: Saturday, April 22, 9am-5pm – Sunday, April 23, 9am-2pm

The 16-hour long RCA Coach Weekend #2 clinic is a recognized coach education course in the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP); and at the completion of the course the coach will achieve the Trained status towards becoming a certified RCA Coach.
This course is for coaches who have completed RCA Coach Weekend #1 and are actively coaching competitive rowers. RCA Coach Weekend #2 offers more in-depth training on topics covered in RCA Coach Weekend #1 and allows coaches to reflect on their practical coaching (using the assignment from Weekend #1 as a resource for this dialogue).

Weekend Schedule: Friday, April 28, 7-9pm – Saturday, April 29, 8am-5pm – Sunday, April 30, 8am-1pm
