Ottawa Rowing Club Crews Win Hardware at Provincial Rowing Championships

Crews from the Ottawa Rowing Club are returning from London, ON with 8 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals after a successful performance at the provincial rowing championships (RowOntario Championships) this past weekend.  The provincial championship regatta is the second largest and significant regatta of the summer season for ORC crews.  Results from the weekend included these medal performances:

Next on the summer regatta schedule is the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta, held in S. Catharines, ON.  The Royal Canadian Henley Regatta is the largest and most prestigious regatta of the summer season and features racing by Canadian and international crews.  ORC masters crews will race on Sunday, August 5 and all other ORC crews will race during the week long regatta from August 6-12.
This past week also included racing by ORC alumni, Louise Munro and Alex Bernst, at the U23 World Rowing Championships in Poznan, Poland.  Louise Munro placed 5th in the A Final with her Team Canada teammates in the women’s quad, while Alex Bernst placed 1st in the C Final and 13th overall in the lightweight men’s double.  A full list of results can be found here: http://rowingcanada.org/news-events/news/double-gold-canada-u23-world-rowing-championships-poznan-poland
