On Sunday, February 3 athletes from the Ottawa Rowing Club, uOttawa and Carleton rowing teams raced at the Canadian Indoor Rowing Championships (CIRCs). The CIRCs are an annual championship event where athletes from across North America race a 2000m distance on rowing machines. Race categories include junior, senior, open and masters events. Below is a summary of ORC individual athlete performances:
event 25, women’s 50+ – Julia Fournier, 1st place
event 24, U17 women – Zella James, 4th place
event 35, U17 boys – Matthew Lokhonia, 7th place
event 24, JM Novice – Marko Youngson, 3rd place
event 46, junior women novice – Madeleine Lauriault, 1st place
event 48, women’s U19 – Rachel Weber, 4th place; Lauren Blume, 27th place; Mackenzie Mihorean, 29th place
event 49, U19 men’s lwt – Declan McCoy, 34th place
event 50, U19 men – Aiden Hembruff, 4th place; Eric Watkins, 18th place; Liam Louttit, 21st place; Andrew Lokhonia, 24th place; Dave Johnson, 26th place
event 54, U23 men – David Dumas, 5th place; Teagan Van Ginneken, 18th place; Nicholas Maciejewski, 23rd place
event 58, open men – Andre Pelletier, 3rd place
In the team 1000m events, the junior men and women finished in 2nd place.
University of Ottawa and Carleton rowing programs, which train out of the ORC, also raced on Sunday. Individuals results included:

University of Ottawa, event 53, U23 light men – Alex McDermott, 11th place; Owen Falkenham, 14th place; Philippe Morin, 17th place
