The U19, U17 and U15 summer and fall rowing programs are for all experienced junior rowers who have participated in Junior Learn to Row or Youth Crew Summer Program or Spring High School Rowing. The program continues to teach boys and girls the fundamentals of rowing, including coxing technique and boat safety, as well as basic concepts of physical well-being including hydration, diet, flexibility, and core strength for rowing, further preparing developing junior rowers to advance to the Junior Competitive Program.
The program is taught in a fun and supportive environment with a goal of continuing to develop a solid foundation of skills. Participants are introduced to basic measures of fitness and strength on the rowing machine and encouraged to work as a crew toward collective goals on the water.
Program registration will open March, 2020.
Club Junior AM1 U19 – Competitive program geared towards competing at the ROWONTARIO Championships and Henley regattas. By registering for this program athletes are making a commitment to compete at these events. Practices are early mornings, six days a week. Visit the Competitive U19 program page for more info.
Club Junior AM2 U19, U17 and U15 – Open to all athletes. Athletes will have an opportunity to compete at the regattas listed below. In some cases, athletes will undergo selection to create regatta crews, however nobody will be excluded from racing. Athletes are not required to race at regattas.
Club Junior AM2 U19, U17 and U15 athletes have rowing experience but are not ready for junior competitive. Practices are 8:30 to 10:30 am Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The season starts June 29 and ends August 21, 2020.
Club Junior U19 AM – Entry into this program requires selection. Selection Camp details will follow shortly. Practices are early mornings, six days a week. Visit the Competitive U19 program page for more info.
Club Junior U19, U17, and U15 PM – Open to all U19, U17, and U15 athletes. All athletes will have an opportunity to compete, although competition is not required. Athletes in this program will not be considered for the Head of the Charles crews.
The Club Junior U19, U17 and U15 PM schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 4:00pm to 6:00pm from September 8 to October 30, 2020.
