The U19, U17 and U15 summer and fall rowing programs are for all experienced junior rowers who have participated in Junior Learn to Row or Discover Rowing Summer Camps or Spring High School Rowing.  The program continues to teach boys and girls the fundamentals of rowing, including coxing technique and boat safety, as well as basic concepts of physical well-being including hydration, diet, flexibility, and core strength for rowing, further preparing developing junior rowers to advance to the Junior Competitive Program.

The program is taught in a fun and supportive environment with a goal of continuing to develop a solid foundation of skills. Participants are introduced to basic measures of fitness and strength on the rowing machine and encouraged to work as a crew toward collective goals on the water.

The summer and fall Junior A (U19) and B (U17) programs are for high school athletes in high school A (U19) and B (U17) categories. Crews will be formed according to gender, and age (high school A and B).

The summer and fall Junior C (U15) program is for middle school athletes. Crews will be formed according to gender.

Summer Junior A (U19) and B (U17) athletes have rowing experience but are not ready for junior competitive. The session is 8:30 to 10:30 am Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The session starts June 26 and ends August 20. Athletes will participate in two regattas.

Summer Junior C athletes have rowing experience but are not ready for junior competitive. The session is 8:30 to 10:30 am Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The session starts June 26 and ends August 20. Athletes will participate in two regattas.

The fall Junior A (U19) and B (U17) schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 4:00pm to 6:00pm. from September 5 to October 29. Athletes will participate in the Head of the Rideau and another regatta to be determined.

The fall Junior C (U15) schedule is Monday, Wednesday and Friday 4:00pm to 6:00pm. from September 5 to October 29. Athletes will participate in the Head of the Rideau and another regatta to be determined.

Athletes who register for July Junior A (U19), B (U17) or C (U15) or August Junior A (U19), B (U17) or C (U15) must have previously registered in 2017 Spring High School or Middle School programs. The practice schedule for July and August Junior A (U19), B (U17) or C (U15) is the same as Summer Junior A (U19), B (U17) or C (U15).

Full attendance is expected, as well as close communication with coaches if a practice must be missed.

All program fees include HST, credit card processing fees, Rowing Canada and RowOntario association fees.  Program fees do not include expenses associated with regatta participation, such as entry fees, travel and trailering fees.  Regatta expenses are in addition to the program fee.
