The ORC will be hosting it’s second annual Tulip Regatta on the Rideau Canal on Saturday, May 13, 2017. This regatta is open to experienced, competitive junior, senior and masters ORC and ONEC members. The entry deadline is Friday, May 5, 2017! Click here to enter.
The course is as follows:
Start and Finish line: Fifth Street
Turn Around Point: 225m towards Landsdowne
Two teams consisting of a coxed four, double, and single will race head to head. The coxed fours will race first, passing off to the doubles, and then the singles. Each team will be made up of a combination of juniors, seniors, and masters. Teams will be determined by the ORC lead coaches and Technical Director.
Each rower/coxie pays an entry fee of $20. $10 will go to the ORC Equipment Fund, and the remaining $10 will go to the pot. The winning team collects the pot!
The cash pot will be awarded to the winning relay team at the ORC’s Spring Boat House party on the evening of May 13th. The party is a great opportunity to celebrate the arrival of Spring and the first ORC regatta of the season! Evening includes live music from local Ottawa band Gin & Tonic, amazing BBQ food and the raffling of some fantastic prizes including a one year ORC membership!
